My Mission

Lagoon Arts began as a way to distinguish my comic storytelling from the local event flyers, educational docs, and ad campaigns I was producing for Erie’s art scene.

Over time, Lagoon Arts evolved into a full-spectrum showcase for my visual branding, logo design, and print-ready illustrations. It became the launchpad for my most polished work—where storytelling meets strategy, and where local artists, educators, and event organizers could find both inspiration and collaboration. Today, Lagoon Arts is more than a portfolio—it’s a platform for community engagement, a directory for art-forward services, and an archive of visual language I’ve built to uplift Erie’s creative pulse.

How Lagoon Arts began as a local passion.

The Origin Story: Tropical Minded

The name "Lagoon Arts" was inspired by the unique dichotomy of our home base.
Erie is a city of extremes: a great lake that sometimes exhibits tropical weather, yet infamous for record-breaking snowfalls. This stark contrast—the cold reality coexisting with coastal beauty—inspired our philosophy: Tropical Minded. It means that despite harsh surroundings, we treat every day like a tropical paradise.

Lagoon Arts began as a necessary creative pivot, rooted in deep illustration work, separating that passion from fast-paced commercial projects.

Interactivity & Local Voices

Our "Tropical Minded" approach extends to community connection. While the digital landscape favors quick, profitable video content, Lagoon Arts is committed to fostering a deeper, more authentic engagement.

We highlight stories and creations from local artists who bring our community’s spirit to life, emphasizing genuine interaction and an appreciation for visual storytelling that endures.

Our Journey

This platform showcases our genuine evolution. Our journey is about sharing how Lagoon Arts grew from that simple idea—a tropical mindset in a snowy city—into a dedicated space for celebrating creativity, bridging the gap between fleeting digital consumption and enduring artistic engagement.
